A few months have passed since DJI's long-rumoured 360-degree action camera has leaked online. To recap, the Osmo 360 was spotted in testing footage a few days after GoPro refreshed the Max with a 2025 edition. While the GoPro Max (2025) brings little new to the table, the Insta360 X5 adds new software and hardware features over the older Insta360 X4 (curr. $424.99 on Amazon).
Ultimately, little was known about the Osmo 360 beyond its appearance at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in October. Somehow, a leaker who posts on X as Hakasushi has uncovered numerous testing photos from that certification process, which we have embedded below.
On top of that, the same account has published screenshots of the camera's user manual that mention features like a touchscreen display, compatibility with the DJI Mimo app and the presence of a 1,950 mAh battery. Incidentally, that battery is the same one DJI uses in its recent Osmo Action cameras, including last year's Osmo Action 5 Pro.
Overall, the design of the Osmo 360 looks like DJI's attempt at recreating the GoPro Max. According to Jasper Ellens, no evidence has emerged via resellers yet. Likewise, he reports that none of his sources has received Osmo 360 prototypes. As a result, Ellens implies there is only an outside chance of DJI's 360-degree action camera ever seeing the light of day, particularly in view of current US and Chinese tariffs. Nonetheless, the photos provide the closest look yet at DJI's long-rumoured 360-degree camera alternative.
