It looks like DJI's long-awaited alternative to the GoPro Max and Insta360 X5 (curr. $549.99 on Amazon) is almost upon us. Officially, DJI has not said anything yet about the expansion of its action camera division with a new option. Nonetheless, leaker Igor Bogdanov has obtained product images that he has now posted on X.
Embedded below, the images match equivalents that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) published of a prototype a few months ago. However, the new images also offer a few insights into the camera's capabilities. For instance, '8K30' can clearly be made out, which suggests that the Osmo 360 will be capable of recording videos in an 8K resolution at 30 FPS. Moreover, the photos imply that the 360-degree camera should last over 3 hours between charges when recording at 8K and 30 FPS.
At this stage, other Osmo 360 details remain unknown for now. Typically, these kind of leaks only occur at the latter stages of a device's development. For instance, a retailer may have been caught adding these images to a publicly accessible webpage ahead of time. Regardless of their origin, DJI is expected to officially unveil the Osmo 360 on July 15, with the Osmo Nano and Mic 3 following before the end of the month.
