Insta360’s upcoming X5 action camera launch is just around the corner. Ahead of the launch of the new X5 action camera, the Insta360 Amazon storefront is offering a solid 15% or $75 discount on the last-generation action camera, the Insta360 X4. This means you can now buy the action camera for just $424.99 rather than $499.99. Please note that the deal is available on the standard bundle, which includes an action camera and standard lens guards. Sadly, the standard bundle doesn’t include a microSD card and a selfie stick, which you have to buy separately.
The Insta360 X4 is equipped with a 1/2-inch 72 MP sensor with in-camera AI noise reduction that allows you to capture detailed 8K video at 30 frames per second. Plus, you can also shoot slow-motion video at a maximum 4k/100 FPS. Insta360’s FlowState stabilization + 360° Horizon Lock handles image stabilization to produce smooth and shake-free footage on the go.
The action camera also has a built-in 2.5-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top for easy camera viewing and control. The action camera has a 2,290 mAh battery, which should last over 2 hours when recording at 5.7K/30 FPS with 360° mode activated. PCMag’s testing reveals that the X4 does offer a solid battery backup while capturing footage at high resolution. However, the action camera is certainly not without its limitations. You can learn more about the Insta360 X4 in PCMag’s in-depth review.
If you’re worried about having your camera around water, the action camera is rated at 10 m (33 ft), making it suitable for all water sports activities such as diving, swimming, and snorkeling. Like other Insta360 action cameras, you can also transfer videos to a smartphone over Wi-Fi or using a 5 Gbps USB Type-C connection.
Overall, at $424.99, the Insta360 X4 is a solid deal for those who are looking for a reliable action camera with excellent battery life.
