Insta360 just launched a new Ace Pro 2 action camera to take on the GoPro's Hero 13 Black and DJI's OSMO Action 5 Pro

Insta360 has refreshed its action camera lineup with the launch of new Ace Pro 2. The company’s new Ace Pro 2 is the world’s first dual-chip action camera that builds on the predecessor Ace Pro and offers up to 8K 30fps footage. The battery life of the camera has also 50% improved compared to last year's model. Plus, it’s now waterproof up to 39 feet (approx. 12 meters) without any protective case.

Insta360 has expanded its action camera portfolio by launching a new Ace Pro 2 rugged action camera. This time too, The company has collaborated with the renowned camera brand Leica to bring its expertise for exclusive color profiles. The Ace Pro was released exactly on November 2023, and just under a year later, the company brought a successor with significant upgrades and new smart AI tricks. 

Insta360’s new capturing device is a rival to the recently announced DJI OSMO Action 5 Pro and GoPro Hero 13 Black. The Ace Pro 2 now comes with dual AI chips, one is dedicated to image processing, and the other one handles the camera’s overall performance. Insta360 packs the same sensor from the last generation model, albeit with some tweaks. The 1/1.3” sensor with a 157-degree field of view lets you to shoot at 8K 30fps, 4K 120fps slow-motion mode, or 4k 60fps with Active HDR. 

The Ace Pro 2 has a larger, brighter, and tougher high-resolution 2.5-inch flip-up screen, compared to the Ace Pro. A big update is that the Ace Pro 2 comes with a 1,800mAh battery, up from 1650mAh of the Ace Pro, promising 50% longer battery life while shooting at 4K 30fps. It also has fast charging support, an 18-minute charge provides up to 80% battery life. 

The waterproofing is also improved now you can take the Ace Pro 2 up to 39 feet (approx. 12 meters) without any protective case and can withstand extreme temperatures as low as -4° F (20°C) and as high as 45°C. 

Other features include AI highlights assistant, gesture and voice control, advanced noise reduction, and more. Additionally, Insta360 also added a new wind guard to the Ace Pro 2 which wasn’t available in the predecessor for clearer audio, and there’s also a removable lens guard for extra protection.
