Garmin has announced a new stable update, version 3.25, for one of its wearables. The firmware arrives a couple of months after version 3.24 and enhances the fitness tracker’s GPS feature. According to a post in the Garmin forum, this release is already available to all users.

The Garmin Vivosmart 5 fitness tracker is being updated. The wearable was launched in 2022 as an alternative to the brands’ more advanced smartwatches. Now, it is receiving firmware version 3.25, with the release notes listing one change.

Garmin states that the Connected GPS feature has been improved. This tool allows the Vivosmart 5 to use GPS data from a connected smartphone to track various details of your walk, run or bike ride, such as your location or speed. Unfortunately, the company has not provided further information to indicate where customers might notice these enhancements. This is a smaller update than version 3.24, which arrived two months ago with three bug fixes. These tackled problems with alarms, the strength activity and the sleep score.

A post in the Garmin forum confirms that the update is already available for all users. The same message asks users to report any issues in a separate thread on the forum. It does not appear that customers have encountered any problems thus far. The Garmin Vivosmart 5 fitness tracker firmware version 3.25 can be downloaded on your phone via the Garmin Connect Mobile app or on your computer via Garmin Express.
