Casio launches new G-Shock G-Lide GLX5600KB-1 watch in additional markets
The Casio G-Shock G-Lide GLX5600KB-1 watch has been launched in North America. This 5600 Series model is the third to come from a partnership between the watch brand and Japanese professional surfer Kanoa Igarashi. The wearable was launched in Japan and Europe in September, when Casio ID members could pre-order the model.
The GLX5600KB-1 has a digital display surrounded by a wire frame for added protection. Surfing features include tide graphs, tide times, sunrise and sunset times, moon age readings and moon phase graphs. The watch has a fully automatic calendar to the year 2099 and can be set to 29 time zones, with various countdowns and alarms. Plus, it is said to run for up to seven years on a single CR2025 battery.
Design elements marking the collaboration with Kanoa Igarashi include their signature above the watch face, on the back of the watch and again on the backlight. The surfer is said to have requested the two-tone black resin watch casing and band with a wave-inspired pattern. You can now buy the Casio G-Shock G-Lide GLX5600KB-1 watch for $160/CA$$215/MX$4,499. The wearable retails in the UK and various EU countries for £139/€159.
