Casio’s new G-Shock Urban utility series watches debut with biomass plastic and dual-layer bezels
Casio has announced the all-new G-SHOCK Urban utility series, which reflect streetwear and urban functionality. Scheduled for release in Japan in November 2024, the collection features four new models crafted with eco-conscious materials, including biomass plastic for the bezel and bands, and a carbon-fiber-reinforced case for extra durability in the GA-B2100LUU models.
The DW-5610UU-3 and DW-5610UU-8 incorporate a layered bezel structure in green and gray colorways. These models include an inverted LCD display and practical features like the Super Illuminator LED for nighttime readability. The GA-B2100LUU models, available in beige (GA-B2100LUU-5A) and gray (GA-B2100LUU-8A), adopt a two-tone, dual-molded bezel structure, which contribute to a sleek yet pleasing aesthetic.
The GA-B2100LUU models come equipped with Bluetooth connectivity for automatic time adjustment and Tough Solar technology, providing extended battery life and reducing the need for frequent charging. Other features across the series include a stopwatch, countdown timer, multi-alarm functionality, and 20-bar water resistance.
Pricing for the DW-5610UU models is set at 15,400 yen (~$101), while the GA-B2100LUU models are priced at 25,850 yen (~$170), tax included. This series combines classic G-SHOCK resilience with modern, eco-friendly materials, making it ideal for consumers looking for style and functionality in the same package.
