Garmin announces new beta testing cycle for popular smartwatches
Garmin is rolling out Beta Version 12.06 for the Vivoactive 5, Venu 3 and Venu 3S smartwatches. This is the first update in the 12.xx testing cycle, with the 11.xx cycle concluding with stable update version 11.16 in September.
The release notes for beta version 12.06 indicate that there is just one update in this update. Garmin states that it has optimized the pool swim activity with enhancements for the rest screen and alert tones. Unfortunately, it does not provide further details explaining where users may see these improvements. It appears that this new beta update is available for all eligible users of the Venu 3 series and Vivoactive 5 (curr. $247.16 at Amazon) wearables.
You can check for the software by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update. Customers with a Venu 3 wearable should note that the ECG App is disabled during beta testing. If you encounter any bugs during testing, Garmin requests that you log them in the bug reports section of the forum. Should you wish to join the beta program, you can sign up via Garmin Connect.
