Garmin previews substantial new stable update for Fenix 8, Fenix E and Enduro 3 with over 70 changes

Garmin has just pushed a new stable update to the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8, details of which we have covered separately. However, it is already previewing its next major software development for the same smartwatches on its Beta Program. Unusually, this early public build ships over six-dozen improvements compared to v11.90, which reached stable status earlier today.

To recap, early adopters of the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 reported the trio shipping with buggy launch software. While Garmin claimed to address dozens of issues with Software Version 11.89 earlier this month, Beta Version 12.09 ships with another 42 bug fixes. Moreover, the update's changelog also lists seven improvements and four other minor refinements.

Consequently, Beta Version 12.09 contains 22 new features too. On top of that, the same update also introduces new GPS, sensor hub and wireless firmwares for the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 (curr. $1,089.99 on Amazon); please see Garmin's forum post for more details about these. Separately, Garmin stresses that Beta Version 12.09 disables Dive and ECG features. In other words, it may be a while yet before a new stable update arrives. Nonetheless, Beta Version 12.09 serves as a preview of what is to come for Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 units that are not enrolled on Garmin's Beta Program.
