Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch gains new blood pressure monitoring feature

Some users of Amazfit’s latest smartwatch, the T-Rex 3, have reported a new blood pressure tracking feature. The tool is currently only available for users in certain countries and uses the built-in optical heart rate sensor.

According to Amazfit, it needs to be frequently calibrated with a blood pressure cuff. Based on the technology, these blood pressure readings are likely to be less accurate than those taken directly with a cuff. The same Amazfit blood pressure feature was rolled out to some Amazfit Balance users earlier this year.

On Reddit, T-Rex 3 users said they had only recently spotted the tool, which has not been officially announced by Amazfit for this model. This suggests that the blood pressure feature was quietly added during a recent release like software update 3.2.8.5, which arrived earlier in October. The blood pressure tool was not mentioned in the change log; the release notes listed a new Dog Walking mode, speech-to-text input for message replies and various optimizations.

It is worth noting that the feature has been reported to work for the Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch in countries like Singapore and Brazil. However, it does not appear to be available in the US or Europe, likely due to the lack of necessary clearance from bodies like the FDA.
