Oppo Find X8 Ultra leak hints at improved camera setup over the X8 Pro

Oppo made the Find X8 series official with two phones. Both the phones feature the Dimensity 9400, but a third is expected to be unveiled with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This upcoming phone is rumored to launch in early 2025, and it will reportedly be a true successor to the Find X7 Ultra.

Looking back, the Find X7 Ultra launched as the world's first dual-periscope flagship phone, and it currently holds the same spot as the iPhone 16 Pro Max in DxOMark's smartphone camera ranking. As for the upcoming device, reliable Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station reports that it will have a better camera configuration than the Find X8 Pro. To be specific, it will reportedly have a quad-camera setup on the rear with all 50 MP sensors.

Digital Chat Station adds that there will be two telephoto sensors, one featuring 3x optical zoom and the other bumping it up to 6x. This isn't anything different from the Find X8 Pro, but the Weibo tipster adds that the upcoming camera flagship will have upgraded sensors.

Other details about the Find X8 Ultra are still under wraps, and it's unclear whether it will remain a China-exclusive phone as its predecessor (12/256 GB curr. $818.76 on TradingShenzhen). Speaking of which, Oppo has recently announced the global launch timeline of Find X8 and X8 Pro. They are set to be among the first phones with Dimensity 9400 to be available outside China.
