Leaker provides insights into state of new Google camera features headed to Pixel smartphones
Kamila Wojciechowska has once again delivered previously unknown information about several forthcoming Pixel devices. To recap, the leaker outlined specifications for not just the Tensor G5 but also the Tensor G6 earlier this month. Now, Wojciechowska has provided insights into upcoming camera features that may well debut with Google's 2025 and 2026 flagships.
Reportedly, Google plans to allow the Pixel 10 series to record HDR videos in 4K and 60 FPS, which would be a 2x framerate improvement on the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL (curr. $1,099 on Amazon). Moreover, next year's Pixels should be capable of 100x zoom, although that much was already known from previous leaks. Meanwhile, the Pixel 11 line is said to support Cinematic Blur at up to 30 FPS at 4K thanks to a 'Cinematic Rendering Engine'.
Supposedly, this element with the Tensor G6's image signal processor (ISP) will also provide what Wojciechowska describes as 'video relight', which should be capable of altering lighting conditions after that face. Furthermore, the Pixel 11 is set to gain an 'Ultra Low Light' video mode that could work at brightness levels as low as 5-10 lux. Better still, this feature will work locally, unlike Night Sight video on the Pixel 9 series. Incidentally, Wojciechowska has revealed new AI features that are in the pipeline too, which we have covered separately.
