Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphones to receive new bug fixes with November software updates
Google has not officially published its November set of updates for its currently supported Pixel line-up. For reference, the company now only offers regular updates to devices running Tensor chipsets. Thus, while the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro (curr. $209.99 - renewed on Amazon), the two-month older Pixel 5a 5G is out of luck in this regard.
Surprisingly, Google has been beaten to announcing this month's updates by Verizon. As 9to5Google notes, the network carrier has revealed changelogs for the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 series, which we have linked below. In short, only the latter has received any notable changes.
Specifically, Verizon describes AP3A.241105.007 as updating the Pixel 6, Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series to the November 2024 set of security patches. Moreover, it mentions making vague 'general improvements' to unspecified UI transitions and animations. By contrast, AP3A.241105.008 brings a whole host of bug fixes to the Pixel 9 series, which are as follows:
- Bluetooth
- Addressed an issue with Bluetooth range under certain conditions.
- Camera
- Addressed an issue with camera tilt when zooming between cameras under certain conditions.
- Display & Graphics
- Resolved an issue that caused white dots to flash under certain conditions.
- Security
- Provides the most up to date Android security patches on your device.
- Sensors
- Addressed an issue that occasionally prevented Adaptive brightness from activating in certain conditions.
- Touch
- Addressed an issue when pressing the keyboard dismiss button in certain conditions.
- User interface
- General improvements for performance and stability in certain UI transitions and animations.
