Google's AI video generator is now available for Workspaces
Google is expanding access to its Gemini-powered video generator to select Workspace accounts. Workspace is an enterprise productivity solution with cloud-based apps and tools for businesses. It is currently available to Workspace Labs and Gemini Alpha users, with general availability expected by the end of the year.
Google pitches the video generator as a project management tool to create videos based on text prompts or files shared through Google Drive. It uses Gemini to suggest scenes and outlines.
The company says Vids can create "dynamic, engaging videos" using "millions of high-quality royalty-free media assets." Vids can create storyboards with suggested scenes and background music. There are also pre-built templates for various scenarios.
Users can also record and insert themselves into the video, and it can generate teleprompter logs for meetings and speeches. It also supports voiceover audio, with preset options to select a voice based on mood or intent. You can also insert files from Google Drive with drag-and-drop support.
Videos can be shared through Google Drive to other users, with an option to generate closed captions automatically.
