Coros has officially announced a launch date for what it describes as its 'fastest smartwatch yet'. As the teaser below shows, the company's next smartwatch will debut on October 31 at 12:00 UTC. While Coros is remaining quiet about the smartwatch in question, the5krunner has obtained pre-release pictures and detailed specifications.
According to the website, Coros intends to offer the Pace Pro as a replacement for the Coros Pace 3 (curr. $229 on Amazon). However the Pace Pro is expected to launch for €399 (~$433), which would be a €150 (~$163) uplift from the Pace 3. With that being said, the Pace Pro is rumoured to feature five overarching upgrades to distinguish it from the Pace 3.
For instance, the Pace Pro should launch with an 1.3-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 416 x 416 pixels, compared to the 1.2-inch MiP display that underpins the Pace 3. Additionally, the5krunner reports that Coros has installed a new chipset that will deliver a two-fold performance increase. On top of that, battery life should grow from 15 days to 20 days, although this official estimate drops to 6 days with the Pace Pro's always-on display activated.
Moreover, the Pace Pro will support worldwide offline maps, for which it has 32 GB of storage. Furthermore, Coros' next smartwatch is anticipated to offer electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality while not missing out on the company's existing health-tracking software suite. Seemingly, the trade-off for all these upgrades is the Pace Pro's size, which spans 46 x 46 x 14.15 mm compared to 41.9 x 41.9 × 11.7 mm for the Pace 3.
