G3000 PRIME: Garmin launches its most advanced integrated flight deck, FAA-certified for multiple markets

Garmin has launched its most advanced integrated flight deck, the G3000 PRIME. This system has edge-to-edge, 14-inch, sunlight-readable touchscreen displays. The displays come with fingerprint-resistant glass and deliver quadrupled memory, as well as gigabit connectivity for improved responsiveness. The processing power has more than doubled, thanks to new multi-core processors, resulting in smoother, faster animations.

G3000 PRIME includes secondary display units that are 40% larger than previous models, which will be useful for increased situational awareness. These secondary screens can also serve as standby flight instruments, reducing the need for extra equipment in the cockpit. Garmin has introduced a multi-touch interface, allowing up to 10 simultaneous touchpoints. This would bump up usability for both pilot and copilot, especially in turbulent or otherwise stressful conditions.

The new system also has advanced flight management tools, including graphical flight plan previews and Emergency Return functions. Enhanced connectivity options, such as PlaneSync technology, enable remote data logging and flight plan uploads. The system is also compatible with FAA Data Comm and Eurocontrol Link 2000+ for streamlined communications with air traffic control.

Garmin has also added safety features like Autoland, Smart Glide, and Electronic Stability Protection. G3000 PRIME has received FAA TSO certification, making it ready for Part 23 turbine, military, and advanced air mobility markets. Initial aircraft with the G3000 PRIME will be announced by manufacturers soon, as per Garmin.
