Specialized launches new Turbo Vado 5.0 e-bike with Garmin Radar
The 2025 Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 e-bike has been launched in Europe. The commuter model is powered by the Specialized Turbo Full Power 2.2 motor with a pedal sensor for natural feeling assistance. This peaks at 28 mph (~45 kph), and the top speed is reduced in some countries to comply with local regulations.
The Turbo Vado's motor is accompanied by a 710Wh battery, allowing you to ride with assistance for up to 75 km (~120 miles). At the front of the Specialized electric bicycle is a suspension fork with 80mm travel, and a suspension seat post also adds to your ride comfort. Other features include hydraulic disc brakes, LED front and rear lights, a rear luggage rack and a built-in Vado anti-theft lock and alarm. The MasterMind display and Specialized app can be used to tune the e-bike and estimate the remaining assistance range.
Plus, a more unusual feature is the integrated Garmin Radar sensor, which can detect vehicles up to 140 m (~459 feet) away. This then triggers visual, audible and haptic alerts with information of the vehicle's distance and speed, to help keep you safe. You can buy the Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 e-bike in the EU for €4,500.
