Flluid e-bike and Fllow e-motorcycle future uncertain as Fuell files for bankruptcy
E-mobility company Fuell Inc. has filed for bankruptcy in the US. The American electric mobility brand took its name in part from Erik Buell, founder of the Buell Motorcycle Company. However, the motorcycle designer left the company some time ago.
Fuell had some success with the Flluid 1S e-bike. It then launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for the 2S and 3S models in June 2023. A series of delays meant that a limited number of units were sent to backers in August 2024, with the vast majority of backers yet to receive the e-bikes. The company was also accepting orders for the Fllow electric motorcyle, which has also yet to ship to customers.
A letter from the company’s legal representative makes it clear that production of all models has ceased, and no further shipments will be made at this time. However, it notes that “great effort is being made” to make it possible for another party to take over the business and resume production of at least the electric bicycles. If no buyer can be found, then customers will be advised to make a claim to try to recoup some of their money. A Notice of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy for the company states that creditors, in this case those who backed the Indiegogo campaign or pre-ordered a product on the Fuell website, must file a claim before December 26th 2024.
