Swytch has announced that it will soon launch the Go eBike. The UK-based company is known for its range of e-bike conversion kits, including the Max+, which is currently available to pre-order.
The Swytch Go has a 250W rear motor with 40Nm torque, assisting you at speeds up to 15 mph (~24 kph) in the UK and the EU or 20 mph (~32 kph) in the US. As standard, this is accompanied by the Go power pack for up to 20 miles (~32 km) range, though you can choose to upgrade to the Go+ for 40 miles (~64 km) range or the Go++ for 60 miles (~97 km) range. Each battery is removable and can be locked to the frame. The 7-speed electric bicycle also offers disc brakes and wide tires that can help you to tackle steep hills and bad weather.
The Go is described as having a step-through aluminum frame and is relatively light at 16.5 kg (~36 lbs) without the battery. It appears that there will be optional accessories such as fenders, a rear rack and lighting. Swytch suggests that the model will be the “ultimate affordable” e-bike, with an expected starting price of £999 (~$1,300/€1,200). The exact launch date of the Swytch Go eBike has yet to be revealed.
