Samsung Galaxy A36 5G shown in new leak with Sony Xperia vibes
@OnLeaks and GizNext have partnered to deliver a first look at the Galaxy A36 5G, which is expected to replace the Galaxy A35 5G (curr. $259.50 on Amazon) in early 2025. While 2024 still has a few months left in it, we now know multiple details about Samsung's forthcoming mid-range smartphone.
Based on the images that @OnLeaks and GizNext have provided, the Galaxy A36 5G will depart from the design established by its ancestors. In fact, the back of the Galaxy A36 5G looks more like last year's Xperia 10 V or the Xperia 1 VI than the Galaxy A35 5G. By extension, the Galaxy A36 5G builds on the camera design that the Galaxy Z Fold6 sports, which could be coming to the Galaxy S25 Ultra in early 2025 as well.
With that being said, the device will retain some Galaxy A35 5G characteristics, including Samsung's 'Key Island' design motif. Moreover, the Galaxy A36 5G has a noticeably thicker bottom bezel than those that surround the other sides of its display. Reportedly, the Galaxy A36 5G measures 162.6 x 77.9 x 7.4 mm, which would make it marginally taller, narrower and thinner than its predecessor. If recent Geekbench leaks are accurate, than Samsung will also equip its next Galaxy A3 smartphone with a Snapdragon chipset rather than one from its Exynos portfolio.
