Retroid has just started shipping the Pocket Mini globally. However, it turns out that the company has been dispatching some units with a completely different finish than what it shows on its website. Surprisingly, Retroid has acted quickly to quell any controversy that was bubbling under online.

Retroid has now started shipping the Pocket Mini, having released the device last month as a successor of sorts to the Pocket 4 and Pocket 4 Pro (curr. $224 on Amazon). For context, the company offers the device in five colours, each with a 3.7-inch AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 865 chipset, among other hardware.

Unfortunately for some, it seems that a production issue has occurred with at least one Retroid Pocket Mini colour option. Currently, it appears that only the orange option is affected, which looks nothing like the finish shown in official render images.

As one image above shows, the colour in question should have a white front with orange accents, black game buttons and an orange mid-frame. Somehow, Retroid has managed to include what looks like a grey glass front panel, coupled with orange gamepad buttons instead.

While the issues only arose yesterday, Retroid has issued an official response and resolution. Supposedly, it has now corrected the glass colour issue and will rectify any unshipped orange units. Added to that, those who have already received a grey unit can choose to keep it for a $15 refund. Alternatively, these units can be returned or exchanged for an orange/white unit 'free of charge'.
