AYN Odin2 Portal shown for first time as CNC prototype
The AYN Odin2 Portal is edging closer to being released. While AYN Technologies has not confirmed a launch date just yet, it will likely bring the device to its webshop rather than turning to Kickstarter or Indiegogo like AYANEO and GPD. To recap, AYN Technologies showcased the Odin2 Portal earlier this week, which it swiftly followed up with a look at the device's launch colours.
Now, the company has revealed the Odin2 Portal's final launch colours. As far as we can tell, AYN Technologies still intends to call these three 'Black', 'Indigo' and 'Silver'. However, they have all adopted more pared-back ABXY buttons, much like last year's Odin2 (curr. $449 on Amazon).
Moreover, the company has also presented a first hands-on look at the same gaming handheld. Reportedly a CNC prototype, the ABXY buttons shown are not said to be final. Added to that, the device's joystick caps should look different on retail units. Nonetheless, the overall design looks more premium than the Odin2, if not the Odin2 Mini as well. To that end, AYN will equip the Odin2 Portal with an OLED display, although this will be paired with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset as the rest of the Odin2 series.
