RG CubeXX: Anbernic confirms full specs of new 1:1 retro gaming handheld before impending release
Hardly any time has passed since Anbernic officially unveiled the RG CubeXX. Nonetheless, the company has already pressed ahead and confirmed all key device specifications. As expected, while the RG CubeXX looks like the RG Cube, it shares most of its internal hardware with recent RG35XX releases like the RG35XX SP (curr. $76.99 on Amazon).
Specifically, Anbernic has equipped the RG CubeXX with the Allwinner H700 found across almost all of its budget retro gaming handheld releases from late 2023 onwards. Thus, the RG CubeXX has four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores at its disposal, as well as a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. Moreover, the presence of 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM should make the device powerful enough to emulate sixth-generation home video game consoles like the Dreamcast and GameCube, plus some PlayStation Portable.
On top of that, the RG CubeXX finds itself with a 3,800 mAh battery that Anbernic rates for up to 6.5 hours of usage between charges. Furthermore, the device features a 3.95-inch IPS display that outputs at 720 x 720 pixels with a 1:1 aspect ratio. However, the RG CubeXX will also be capable of connecting to an external display while using a wireless controller thanks to built-in Bluetooth 4.2 support. Although Anbernic has not confirmed a release date yet, it seems that the RG CubeXX will be available later this month.
