ASUS brings new bug fixes and enhancements to ROG Ally and ROG Ally X with latest updates
Earlier this year, ASUS overhauled its Armoury Crate SE (ACSE) service for the ROG Ally (curr. $399.99 on Amazon) to coincide with the release of the ROG Ally X. Now, the company has issued a fresh round of updates, which are available for both gaming handhelds.
For context, there were various reports of ACSE 1.5 causing issues on the ROG Ally. With that in mind, many of ASUS' new updates focus on resolving outstanding ACSE bugs. Specifically, ACSE 1.5.20 is said to contain the following bug fixes for both the Ally and Ally X:
- Fixed occasional crashes in ACSE and Command Centre.
- Enhanced responsiveness when switching Control Mode in the Command Centre.
- Resolved an issue where the Embedded Controller option occasionally disappeared in the Command Centre.
- Resolved an issue where the lighting effects occasionally disappeared on the Lighting page.
Moreover, ASUS claims that it has improved the start-up speed of ACSE with v1.5.20. On top of that, the new update adds an option to toggle the ACSE start-up animation and refines the joystick calibration process, albeit in unspecified ways. Furthermore, ASUS is distributing new MCU updates for both devices. Unfortunately, MCU 319 is delayed for the ROG Ally, as is a new Realtek High Definition Audio Drive that solves a bug that caused recording volumes to act inconsistently. For reference, the pair's MCU updates are said to make the following changes:
- ROG Ally
- MCU 319: Fixed an issue where the power LED might turn off after updating the MCU firmware.
- ROG Ally X
- MCU 313: Fixed an issue where the device may continuously vibrate when Caps Lock is engaged.
