AYN Odin2 Portal launch colours and design revealed as release date also mooted
Hardly any time has passed since AYN Technologies unveiled the Odin2 Portal as a larger alternative to the existing Odin2 (curr. $449 on Amazon) and Odin2 Mini. However, while it initially decided to only share a single image of the device, AYN has now revealed that it could be available in multiple colour options.
As the image above shows, it seems that AYN currently intends to offer the Odin2 Portal in Black, Indigo and Silver colour options. Added to that, each colour has contrasting ABXY buttons, unlike the mainly monochrome affair on the Odin2. Moreover, AYN has jumped aboard the RGB lighting train by adding lighting rings beneath the Odin2 Portal's two analog sticks.
On top of that, AYN's promotional image above implies that the Odin2 Portal has a bezel-less display. We would recommend waiting for pictures of retail units to emerge before passing judgement on this, though. Incidentally, the device looks rather different from AYN's original render. Somewhat unsurprisingly, its d-pad no longer encroaches onto its display. Reportedly, the Odin2 Portal will be orderable with a 7-inch OLED display and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in a week's time or so.
