8BitDo 64 wireless controller now official for $39.99 with Hall effect joystick, Bluetooth and N64 layout
Analogue has finally confirmed launch details for its long-awaited Nintendo 64 remake. To recap, Analogue first teased its FPGA-based console last year alongside an 8BitDo controller. Following today's Analogue 3D announcement, 8BitDo has now also presented its accompanying controller.
While the 8BitDo 64 controller has been designed for the Analogue 3D, it will support Bluetooth just like other 8BitDo controllers including the Ultimate 2C (curr. $29.99 on Amazon). In other words, it will be compatible with various systems, not just the Analogue 3D. To that end, 8Bit also advertises its 64 controller as being ideal for use with the Nintendo Switch when playing N64 Online titles.

In short, the 8BitDo 64 repackages the N64 controller's buttons within a more modern package. Thus, the 8BitDo 64's layout resembles that of an Xbox controller, albeit with B and A buttons instead of a second joystick. Moreover, 8BitDo has included C-buttons in place of ABXY buttons.
Furthermore, the 8BitDo 64 has a Hall effect joystick with a concave rubber cap and a gate that mirrors that of the original N64 controller. On top of that, the controller has a built-in vibration motor. The 8BitDo 64 will be available to pre-order on October 21 at 15:00 UTC for $39.99.
