World of Warcaft gets a new round of hotfixes which address multiple issues
In five weeks, World of Warcraft will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Although the latest updates don't involve any special content and focus on tweaks and fixes instead, those who want to take advantage of a great anniversary deal also get treats, which we will talk about later. This month, Blizzard unveiled multiple rounds of adjustments to the game, which target most areas of World of Warcraft: The War Within, Cataclysm Classic, Season of Discovery, WoW Classic Era, and Hardcore.
Without further ado, these are some of the many changes announced this month (the most recent ones were unveiled yesterday and might still need time to roll out):
- Death Knight's Subduing Grasp being applied instead of the Death Grip, now no longer a problem.
- In When Xal'atath's Bargain, Oblivion Crystals now move towards a player when failing to find an enemy, and the buff effects with Voidbound active are now 20% Versatility and 30% Cooldown Reduction.
- The Necrotic Wake: No longer stacking Bloody Javelin effects, 20% less health for Surgeon Stitchflesh, and 30% less damage from Festering Rot.
- When players complete a Season 1 Heroic dungeon, the "Emissary of War" quest should progress its criteria.
- Season of Discovery: Tier 2 belt tokens are no longer dropping in Blackwing Lair, but Prince Thunderaan still drops two belt tokens. However, his single loot table for unique gear is now split in two.
- Vox Arachni, True Strength, and The Grand Tapestry achievements now trigger properly.
- Nerub-ar Palace: Queen Ansurek gets multiple attributes nerfed.
Before moving on, we should get back to the special anniversary deal mentioned earlier. It consists of four new mounts, a pet, as well as "two exciting future items" that will be awarded to those who purchase a 12-month subscription. More details can be found here.
The (very!) long list of tweaks and fixes that were applied this month or are still being rolled out right now can be found on the webpage that is mentioned in the Source(s) section below. As usual, some of them are exclusively server-side and take effect right after being implemented, while others require the installation of a client-side patch.
World of Warcraft fans looking for a few enjoyable moments off the screen can grab Blizzard's 88-page World of Warcraft: An Adult Coloring Book off Amazon, a paperback-exclusive release that is currently available for 33% off ($8.72 instead of $12.95).
