Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 rumoured to arrive much earlier than their last-gen counterparts
Nvidia has confirmed its presence at CES 2025, where it is widely believed to unveil its next generation of GeForce RTX 50 series of graphics cards. An earlier rumour said the GeForce RTX 5080 would launch first, followed by the flagship RTX 5090. A new report from ITHome sheds light on when other Blackwell SKUs will surface.
The first two models out of the door will be the GeForce RTX 5090D and RTX 5080. Do note that the 'D' indicates it is a China-only SKU, and not the regular GeForce RTX 5090. Next month, Nvidia will launch the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070, two upper-mid-range models. Lastly, the GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti will be announced in March. Exactly when these GPUs will go on sale remains unknown, but it is reasonable to assume it will be a few weeks after announcement.
That leaves us with the top-spec GeForce RTX 5090 global version, which, at this point, does not have a tentative launch window. Its omission from Nvidia's CES lineup is interesting, as it is easily one of the most powerful graphics cards ever made, with 32 GB of 27 Gbps VRAM on a 512-bit bus and 600 Watts TGP. Then again, there's no reason for Nvidia to rush it because AMD and Intel don't have an answer for it with RDNA 4 and Battlemage.
