Nvidia confirms CES 2025 keynote for likely RTX 50 series unveil
Nvidia has confirmed its presence at CES 2025. CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote on Monday, January 6, at 18:30 local time, a day before CES shop floor opens to attendees on January 7. This effectively confirms earlier rumours about the company launching something significant at the event.
In all likelihood, it could be the next-gen Blackwell-based GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 (and hopefully not a RTX 5080 12 GB this time). The former was rumoured to receive a massive spec upgrade with 32 GB of 28 Gbps GDDR6 VRAM on a 512-bit bus, while the latter would stick to 16 GB. Because the flagship SKUs have been delayed, there's a chance Nvidia could unveil more entry-level models alongside them.
That leaves us with their laptop variants. Historically, Nvidia has usually launched these at CES, but this time, and it'll be interesting to see if it happens again. The chances of that seem low as Nvidia has plenty of time to fine-tune its hardware due to lack of meaningful competition from AMD. That said, Team Red also plans to show off some mid to upper-mid range RDNA 4-based Radeon RX 8000 models off at the event.
