Warner Bros tipped to put some fun in long-haul flights and taxi rides (in a few years from now)
Warner Bros, the company most known for its movies, is seemingly looking to expand its presence in the gaming world with a new match-making system that allows people to have entertaining gaming sessions with strangers while in transit.
According to a patent uncovered by Game Rant on October 10, the intra-vehicle gaming system, which may or may not be currently in development, will connect players travelling together in commercial vehicles based on their profiles, preferences and trip data. The software will even be smart enough to select the right title; the gaming session will be automatically terminated once the trip ends.
The patent shed some light on how the new system will configure the games based on the passengers' preferences. It has a "Match Optimizing Algorithm" that will take several factors into consideration, including the biometrics of the people involved. All of that will be fed into a "Training Set," which suggests the possibility of a dedicated AI model. Game progress and rewards achievable will be adjusted in accordance with the length of the ride.
The patent also outlines a scenario where two players interact with the game on a shared display in a taxi. The interface will support voice input and use sensors embedded in the taxi to improve the user experience.
