OnePlus and Oppo unveil ColorOS 15 with fresh design, confirm Android 15 update roadmap
With ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, OnePlus and Oppo are already starting to distribute the biggest update of the year to numerous smartphones and tablets in December. As usual, flagships such as the Oppo Find N3 Flip or the OnePlus 12 (approx. US$650 on Amazon) will be the first to get the new firmware. The current roadmap officially only applies to China, but still provides an overview of when users of OnePlus and Oppo products can expect the update.

ColorOS 15 gets a fresh look with improved animations, dynamic light and shadow effects, as well as new icons. In some places, it looks as if ColorOS 15 has been directly inspired by Apple iOS 18, as the fresh Android skin also has quick settings with multiple pages and a colorful border around the display when AI features are used.
Optimizations are expected to reduce the response time by 18 percent, while apps will be installed 26 percent faster. As is almost fitting for the year 2024, OnePlus and Oppo are also introducing AI features for the Photos app to scale images to a higher resolution, sharpen them, and remove distracting elements with a touch. The Notes app can now reformat and summarize text using AI, and scanned documents can be automatically translated.
