The second camera flagship equipped with Dimensity 9400 after the Vivo X200 Pro is now right on the horizon. Although Oppo's Find X8 series lacks a few camera features such as the Zeiss T* coating or the telephoto macro capability, there is also a lot to be said for the camera solution chosen by Oppo for the Hasselblad camera. For example, only the Oppo Find X8 Pro offers a capacitive button on the side (similar to the iPhone 16 series), which should make triggering and zooming even faster than before.
In addition, the Oppo Find X8 Pro offers two telephoto cameras with different focal lengths, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra or Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra camera flagships expected in 2025, which improves zoom performance both at close range and for objects further away. Portrait shots also benefit immensely from the native, approximately 70mm equivalent focal length of the smaller telephoto lens.
The fastest smartphone camera?
In the hours prior to the Chinese launch, Oppo also published several sample photos from the Hasselblad camera of the Oppo Find X8 Pro on its Weibo profile, which are intended to demonstrate key aspects. As real-life photos from last weekend have already revealed, the camera appears to be able to capture fast movements sharply without a special snapshot mode, making it ideal for sports photography.
Dedicated portrait camera
Last but not least, both the Oppo Find X8 and Oppo Find X8 Pro will offer a close-up telephoto for portrait shots. The images below show what potential users can expect here. The Oppo Find X8 launch will take place on October 24 in China, with the global models expected to follow quickly this time, possibly before the end of the year.
