The wave of official teasers for the Find X8 Ultra hasn’t even arrived yet, but a first glimpse at the improvements of the Hasselblad camera flagship smartphone of 2025 is already available today. To be more exact, Oppo manager Zhou Bao has explained some key aspects of the new Find X8 Ultra camera in post on Weibo, as seen in the screenshot embedded below.
According to a machine translation, a new lens and other hardware innovations are expected to significantly improve the camera's low-light performance and color accuracy, especially in pictures taken at night. This might turn the Oppo Find X8 Ultra into a "Night God”, at least figuratively. The new Oppo smartphone could also be called the king of queen of the night, which are titles that Oppo would have to earn in objective tests and reviews first.
The competition is certainly not weak. When the Oppo Find X8 Ultra hits the (Chinese) market, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will already be available. Just yesterday, the low-light performance of the Xiaomi phone was put into the spotlight. The Vivo X200 Ultra should also be a formidable competitor, although it has somewhat different priorities compared to Oppo and Xiaomi, as it will apparently sport three equally sized camera sensors.
According to recent leaks and rumors, the Find X8 Ultra will once again be equipped with two periscope telephoto lenses and a 1-inch main camera. It remains unclear when the new Oppo handset will hit the market, a global launch is also up in the air.
