Samsung kicked off the wave of new 'Ultra' smartphones last month with the release of the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,289 on Amazon). Based on current expectations, Xiaomi will be next in line with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra that it will present globally next month during MWC 2025 in Barcelona. However, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra may debut slightly sooner in China.
Reportedly, Vivo is plotting a new 'Ultra' flagship too as a direct successor to last year's X100 Ultra. According to Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X200 Ultra could debut between mid and late April, albeit only in China. The leaker has not offered any insights into global availability though, if that is even on the cards.
Digital Chat Station adds that the X200 Ultra will leverage 50 MP primary, 50 MP ultra-wide-angle and 200 MP telephoto cameras, as well as an upgraded in-house image signal processor (ISP). On top of that, the device is alleged to feature an Apple-style 'Action Button', possibly like the camera control button that Oppo integrates in the Find X8 Pro. Potentially, the X200 Ultra could be joined by an X200s too, which Vivo will distinguish from the existing X200 with a newer Dimensity 9400+ chipset. More details about this prospective X200 refresh can be found in our recent article on the same device.
