Oppo may have taken precedence over OnePlus with the release of a new foldable smartphone. However, the pair have joined each other in launching new high-end smartwatches. To recap, the latter introduced the Watch 3 yesterday as a direct successor to last year's OnePlus Watch 2 (curr. $247.99 on Amazon).
Now, the Watch X2 has arrived with a few design tweaks compared to its OnePlus cousin. For instance, Oppo has given its new smartwatch a more striking bezel, at least for its blue titanium variant. The black variant looks unmistakably like the OnePlus Watch 3, though.
Likewise, both Watch X2 models feature a stainless steel case that is waterproof to 5 ATM and a sapphire glass display. For reference, the latter protects a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED panel that Oppo claims peaks at 2,200 nits. The Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 returns, which Oppo has complemented BES2800BP co-processor that delivers up to 5 days of battery life.
The Watch X2 also finds itself with an 8-channel optical heart rate sensor and a wrist temperature sensor. Moreover, the smartwatch utilises a dual-frequency GPS module and an NFC chip for use with payment services like Google Wallet. So far, Oppo has only revealed pricing in China and Singapore, where the Watch X2 starts at CNY 2,499 (~$344) and SGD 499 (~$373), respectively. Oppo has not offered any indications about releases in other markets, though.
