The Amazfit Bip 6 was recently unveiled at a European launch event for the Active 2 smartwatch. Earlier leaks were thought to point to a successor to the GTS 4. However, it has now been confirmed that this was, in fact, the Bip 6 wearable.
The Bip 6 features several upgrades compared to its predecessor, the Bip 5, according to reports. These include a larger 1.97-inch AMOLED display with a 380 x 450 px resolution and up to 2,000 nits brightness. This replaces the 1.91-inch TFT-LD display used in the older model. The new watch has a square design and is slightly larger with a 46.3 mm case, but still weighs under 30 g.
The battery capacity has increased from 300 mAh to 340 mAh, with Amazfit suggesting that the Bip 6 can run for up to two weeks with typical use. Another change is the aluminum alloy frame for a more premium finish. The watch is 5 ATM waterproof and available in four colorways: Black, Charcoal, Stone and Red.
According to Amazfit, the Bip 6 offers more accurate health metric monitoring, with the BioTracker Dual-Light 5PD heart rate sensor. You can track your heart rate, SpO₂ level, stress and HRV, and also keep an eye on your sleep health. There are custom AI-generated fitness plans, including a strength training option, and 140 workout modes like HYROX race, swimming, running and cycling.
The smartwatch has GPS and benefits from the additional support for offline navigation. However, it is worth noting that it does not offer dual-band GNSS. Also added is the Zepp Flow voice assistant, which you can use to reply to messages. Other features include smart notifications, Bluetooth calling, calendar reminders and remote music controls. Plus, iPhone users get remote camera controls.
The Amazfit Bip 6 smartwatch is expected to launch in Europe soon, possibly in March. The company has yet to announce any plans to bring the wearable to the US and has not indicated the price of the model. As a rough idea, the older Amazfit Bip 5 retails for $89.99/£69.99/€89.99 (curr. $59.99 at Amazon).
