The Amazfit Active 2 was first announced at CES 2025 in early January, and has been available to purchase in North America since then. Now, Amazfit has unveiled the smartwatch in Europe. Designed for both athletes and fitness enthusiasts, the Amazfit Active 2 is a feature-packed smartwatch with a price tag that is less than half of that of higher-end smartwatches.
Unlike its predecessor, the Amazfit Active which has a square dial, the Active 2 has a round dial which houses a 1.32'' AMOLED display protected by 2.5D tempered glass. Amazfit also offers a premium version of the smartwatch with sapphire glass. Both versions of the watch have a stainless steel bezel and a polymer middle frame. In addition to touch support, the watch has two physical buttons on the right side.
The Amazfit Active 2 has over 160 sports modes with auto-detection for 25 exercise types, a significant upgrade from the 129 sports modes and auto-detection for 7 activities available on the previous generation. There's also an official HYROX Race mode, a feature also available on the more expensive Amazfit T-Rex 3 (available on Amazon for $279.99) that allows users to practice for the HYROX competition and track their performance. There's also the Zepp Coach which uses AI to generate workout plans based on the user's performance and recovery.
The Active 2 has support for maps (including ski resorts) and routes, with turn-by-turn directions that can be read aloud through the integrated speaker or a pair of connected Bluetooth headphones. There's also a 5-satellite GPS system for fast and accurate positioning, a barometer, digital compass, and an ambient light sensor.
Amazfit's new watch can also be used to keep an eye on health metrics. With the BioTracker 6.0 PPG biometric sensor, the watch provides all-day tracking of heart rate, breathing rate, blood-oxygen saturation, stress, and skin temperature. It will also provide alerts when the readings are abnormal. The smartwatch also has sleep monitoring, cycle tracking, and access to Wild.AI which provides exercise, diet, and recovery suggestions based on menstrual and hormonal cycles.
The Amazfit Active 2 ships with Zepp OS 4.5 with AI features powered by OpenAI. It brings features such as voice control which allows users to adjust the watch settings and also check their workout progress via voice only. There's also support for typing out or dictating responses to messages (available only on Android).
Other features include contactless payment (NFC) via Zepp Pay, Bluetooth call support, support for connecting to external workout devices, and support for third-party fitness apps. The smartwatch has a 270mAh battery that will last up to 10 days in typical usage mode or up to 19 days in battery saver mode.
The standard version of the Amazfit Active 2 which has a silicone strap (black or red) is priced at €99 while the premium version has a black leather strap and sells for €129.
