Casio G-Shock Fine Metallic: Two new digital and hybrid watches launch in the US

Casio has launched two more watches in its Fine Metallic series in the US: the GM2100YMG-9A9 and the GM5600YM-8A8. These two gadgets were spotted earlier this month on the Casio G-Shock Singapore website and now appear to be rolling out to more countries worldwide. They join the recently released GM5600YMG-8, GM5600YM-9, GM2100YMG-8A and GM2100YM-9A.

The GM2100YMG-9A9 is very similar to the GM2100YMG-9A hybrid watch, with a gold stainless steel bezel, and a matching resin casing and Tough Silicone band. The difference is that the GM2100YMG-9A9 has a gold rather than black watch face, and the inset digital display has a light background with dark figures. Features remain the same, with support for 31 world time zones, 200 m water resistance, and a three-year battery life estimate. Plus, it offers a stopwatch, countdown timer and five daily alarms.

Likewise, the GM5600YM-8A8 is almost identical to the GM5600YM-8 digital watch. Both have a silver stainless steel bezel with the casing and strap in a matching color. However, the GM5600YM-8A8 has a metallic grey bezel around the digital display, which has a light background and dark figures. Again, these two watches are identical feature-wise, with an LED backlight and an estimated battery life of five and 200 m water resistance. There are also flash alerts, a multi-function alarm, a countdown timer and a stopwatch.

You can now buy the Casio G-Shock G-Steel Fine Metallic GM2100YMG-9A9, and GM5600YM-8A8 watches for $300 and $240, respectively. Product listings in European countries like France indicate that these wearables will soon arrive in this market too, priced at €299 and €239; here, they are said to be “Coming soon”, with no exact release date provided.
