Last month (in January 2025), we covered the release of Casio's shiny new Fine Metallic series watches. The watches featured stainless-steel bezels in silver and gold finishes. As per new information from G-Central, G-Shock Singapore has now added two brand-new models to the same series, which will expectedly come to other countries as well.
The first of the two models is the gold-finished GM-2100YMG-9A9. This model has an octagonal bezel—a signature design of the 2100 series—paired with a monochromatic gold color scheme that covers both the bezel and the tough silicone band. The bezel is crafted from stainless steel with a gold ion-plated finish, while the silicone band features a urethane coating with gold vapor deposition on the underside. It’s powered by a battery expected to last around three years and offers 200 meters of water resistance, along with features like double LED lights, world time across 31 time zones, and five daily alarms.
The second model, GM-5600YM-8A8, takes a different approach with a silver-themed design rooted in the classic square 5600 case. It features a monochromatic silver finish across the stainless-steel bezel and silicone band, again utilizing a urethane sheet with vapor-deposited silver for a polished metallic sheen. The watch sticks to the essential functions that made the 5600 series popular: a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, multi-function alarm, and 200 meters of water resistance. Its battery is rated to last up to five years.
The GM-2100YMG-9A9 (S$449 or US$332) and GM-5600YM-8A8 (S$349 or US$258) are currently listed as online exclusives on Casio's Singapore website. As mentioned earlier, it's unclear when or if the watches will be released in other countries, but we can expect that info to be available very soon.
