Casio might be gearing up to introduce a major upgrade to its long-lasting battery lineup. A recent leak from a popular Casio-centric Japanese blog (Great G-Shock World) suggests that the upcoming G-Shock GA-B010 will bring Bluetooth connectivity to a series which traditionally focuses more on endurance and durability. If accurate, this would mark the first time Casio has added smart-linked features to its 10-year battery models, potentially adding automatic time synchronization and mobile integration without sacrificing the watch’s signature 'tough' persona.
The GA-B010 will reportedly build upon its predecessor (the GA-010 series), featuring a shock-resistant, angular case and a high-contrast dial for improved readability. While the images suggest a design similar to its predecessor, the addition of Bluetooth hints at a total shift in Casio’s approach. The battery efficiency will probably still be a key focus, with the GA-B010 reportedly maintaining a 10-year lifespan, likely through a combination of low-power consumption and solar charging.
Looking at the bigger picture, it's very noticeable that Casio has been gradually integrating Bluetooth across different G-Shock lines. We know that the brand commits pretty heavily to sustainability - for that reason, the GA-B010 could incorporate more eco-friendly materials as well.
More official details are expected to emerge soon.
