The British luxury marque Aston Martin and the Swiss manufacture Girard-Perregaux have once again collaborated and unveiled their latest timepiece, a new Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition. The new watch continues a collaboration that began in 2021. The company uses a Grade 5 titanium material to forge the new Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition for added durability and comfort. This is the same material used in producing the marque’s hypercar, Valkyrie.
The timepiece features a 42 mm casing with a striking green dial, a rich iridescent green crafted using automotive paint. This hue was achieved with a 14-step process and 15 layers of ultrathin paint, inspired by the racing heritage of British sports cars. Under different lighting conditions, it subtly changes from green to orange.
Like the Seiko Prospex series, the dial of the Aston Martin Edition glows green in low light, ensuring visibility even in dark conditions. The watch is powered by the company’s in-house GP03300 calibre movement with a 46-hour power reserve. It also comes with 3 functions, including 3 o’clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o’clock denotations for effective tracking of minutes and hours.
The watch is built to withstand normal water and dust conditions and is water-resistant to up to 100 meters (10 bar). It also features a polished and satin-finished slim titanium strap with a triple-folding buckle for a secure and comfortable fit. Moreover, “the core ideology behind the latest timepiece in our collection with Aston Martin was to create something that would be a fusion of our different areas of expertise,” said the CEO of Girard Perregaux, Patrick Priniaux.
The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition retails at $22,700/£19,300 and is now available for sale via the company’s official website.
