The new Casio G-Shock MRG-B2100R-2A watch is now available in more countries. This premium watch was rumored late last year and launched in Japan in January with model number MRG-B2100R-2AJR.
Now, the Mr-G series watch can be purchased in the US, where it is known as the MRGB2100R-2A, and in the UK as model MRG-B2100R-2ADR. The higher price tag of this watch is partly due to the use of premium materials like Titanium, Cobarion and a diamond-like carbon coating. The dial’s design is said to be inspired by kigumi, a traditional Japanese woodworking technique, with an intricate pattern, and the color is a nod to Japanese ink wash painting.
The MRG-B2100 is a radio-controlled watch with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to connect it to your smartphone for use with the Casio Watches app. This provides tools like Phone finder and Auto time adjustment. Other features include an LED backlight, automatic hand home position correction and a power-saving mode. Plus, the watch is 200 m water resistant, shock resistant and magnetic resistant. According to Casio, it will run for at least five months with typical use, but this should be boosted thanks to Tough Solar charging.
The Casio G-Shock MRG-B2100R-2A sells for $3,800 in the US and £3,300 in the UK. It is worth noting that this is a limited edition watch; the G-Shock UK website indicates that there are only four units left in stock in this country. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether or when this model will officially launch in Europe.
