Japan-based Casio news website, Great G-Shock world has confirmed the existence of the MRG-B2100R, expected to launch in early 2025. This addition to the premium MR-G lineup will feature a black titanium case with deep-layer hardening and a DLC-coated COBARION bezel for extra durability. A standout feature will be its gold second hand, which sets it apart from previous models in the series.
The MRG-B2100R will likely include a Dura Soft band - which has strong resistance to discoloration, staining, and deterioration over time - and retain essential features like Tough Solar charging and Multi-Band 6 for automatic time calibration. Bluetooth functionality will let users connect the watch to the 'Casio Watches' app on their smartphones for precise time synchronization.
For context, the MRG-B2100R follows the release of the MRG-B2100B-1AJR, which debuted in June 2024 at ¥500,000 ($3,228.88). The earlier model featured a titanium bracelet and similar premium construction but lacked the gold-accented detailing coming with the B2100R.
The MRG-B2100R is expected to launch at a similar price point, which would put it up there with other higher-end Casio models, such as the G-Shock MRG-B2000JS-1A - which is even more expensive, retailing at $8,000. Collectors and premium watch connoisseurs can expect a watch that weighs somewhere around 104 grams, offers 200m water resistance, and maintains an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month.
