Casio has launched the MTG-B2000YST1 in the US, expanding the availability of its storm-inspired G-Shock model. Priced at $1,450, the watch is a part of the MT-G series and is specifically designed for durability and precision - not to mention its distinct, standout design.
The MTG-B2000YST1 features a carbon monocoque case reinforced with a Dual Core Guard structure that combines carbon and stainless steel for strength and reduced weight. A unique rainbow ion-plated bezel aims to replicate the changing hues of stormy skies, while a multilayer carbon frame makes the watch more durable. The watch includes sapphire crystal glass with an anti-reflective coating for protection against scratches.
Equipped with Tough Solar power, the MTG-B2000YST1 can operate for up to 29 months in power-saving mode after a full charge. Bluetooth connectivity allows the watch to sync with the Casio Watches app for automatic time adjustments, world time across 27 time zones, and other features. It also uses Multi-Band 6 for radio-controlled timekeeping in regions with signal coverage. Additional functionality, which is also present in most other G-Shock models, includes a stopwatch, countdown timer, daily alarms, and a full-auto calendar programmed until 2099.
Compared to its earlier release in the UK (MTG-B2000YST-1AER), which retailed for £1,299 (~$1,670), the US model is priced lower at $1,450. Needless to say, both variants share the same specifications, including 200m water resistance, a resin band for comfort, and a case weight of 104g.
