The Casio G-Shock Virtual Mix collection has arrived in Japan. The series encompasses three models with fluorescent green parts: the GA-B001MW-8AJF, the GD-B500MW-8JF and the GA-2300MW-8A. While the first two are already listed on the brand’s website, the latter is only mentioned in a product image description.
The GA-B001MW-8AJF sits at the top of the range, combining the Carbon Core Guard with resin watch casing. It offers up to two years of battery life, with a battery indication warning and a power-saving mode. Typical features include world time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, five daily alarms and an LED backlight. On top of this, thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, you can link the watch with your smartphone for features like a mobile phone finder and automatic time adjustment.
The GD-B500MW-8JF is slightly cheaper as it lacks the carbon element. It has the same basic functions, Bluetooth connectivity and a two-year runtime. To this, it adds a step counting function, with collected data transferred to your phone. This GD-B500 watch also has a larger digital display compared to the hybrid watch face of the GA-B001 series wearable.
You can now buy the Casio G-Shock GA-B001MW-8AJF and G-Shock GD-B500MW-8JF watches in Japan for ¥22,550 (~$150) and ¥20,900 (~$139), respectively. It is unclear when the G-Shock GA-2300MW-8A wearable will become available in the country. Whether or when these models will roll out to other markets also remains to be seen. In the US, you can already buy other GA-B001 watches like the GAB001-1A, which is currently priced at $115 at Amazon.
