The Huawei Watch Fit 3 smartwatch is getting HarmonyOS Next via a beta update. The testing program currently involves 3,000 customers in China, who will provide feedback on the update. This will be used to improve the software before it rolls out to all users.
Beta version 5.0.0.12(SP1C00M03log) is 73.25MB in size and brings several new features to the Watch Fit 3. These include the ability to take screenshots, saved to the photo album on your phone. This tool also recently began to roll out worldwide to users of the Watch Ultimate. There is a new watch face called “Clock Tower”, and a Galaxy Ring pairing animation. Plus, HC Newsroom reports that a WeChat watch app has arrived, allowing you to read messages and reply with suggested text or voice notes.
It is worth noting that the change log calls this a HarmonyOS 5.0 update, despite this being labelled as a HarmonyOS Next beta test. It is unclear when this HarmonyOS Next update will be released globally for users of the Huawei Watch Fit 3 smartwatch (currently €129 at Amazon Germany).
