Samsung has finally released the One UI 6 Watch update with Wear OS 5 to more smartwatches. The update was first seen in July on the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch7 (40mm Bluetooth model curr. $224.99 at Amazon). The company announced the update’s wider rollout in November when it started to reach Galaxy Watch6 Bluetooth smartwatches.
Now, Samsung has started to share One UI 6 with users of the Watch5, Watch5 Pro and Watch FE Bluetooth watches. The update, which appears to be rolling out in phases, has been reported by users across many continents on Reddit, in countries including the US, the UK, Belgium, Taiwan and Kenya.
The One UI 6 Watch update brings a refreshed look for the wearables. Users get a new Energy Score metric, a guide to your physical and mental preparedness for the day ahead, and Galaxy AI personalized tips to help you to improve your health. Plus, an AI-enhanced sleep algorithm allows you to track sleep movement, latency, heart rate and respiratory rate. On top of this, the update adds a Sleep Apnea feature, approved by the FDA. It is worth noting that Watch6 LTE users have also started to receive the software. When this Wear OS 5 update will be available to the Watch5 and Watch5 Pro LTE smartwatches is unclear.
