The Amazfit Balance smartwatch is about to receive the new OTA 8 update. Also known as firmware version 3.25.5.3, the release starts to roll out to users in the US, Canada and Italy on December 5th, with a second wave for all other countries beginning on December 12th.
The Amazfit Balance OTA 8 update brings a new Strength Training Quality Assessment feature to the smartwatch, providing users with insights and tips; there is also support for custom action sequences. Users can now use a double tap to wake the screen of the wearable, a tool found under the Display & Brightness settings. There are three new workout modes: Ski mountaineering, Dog walking and Snow shovelling. Plus, outdoor running and walking activities can now automatically start once positioning is complete.
On top of this, there is a new notification indicator for the watch face and a Bluetooth disconnection alert. Zepp Health has also optimized various features like Do Not Disturb, countdown timers, and Wake on Wrist Raise. You can find the full change log below. The update will be available to download via the Zepp app, which is also being updated. To check for the update, go to Profile > My Devices > Amazfit Balance > System Update. The Amazfit Balance smartwatch is currently available at Amazon for $179.99.
