Zepp Health has announced the Amazfit GTR Mini smartwatch OTA 5 Update. The wearable launched in early 2023 with features like heart rate measurements, sleep quality monitoring and GPS tracking. The watch offers support for five satellite systems and uses a patented circularly polarized GPS antenna technology.
The OTA 5 update, firmware version 5.5.2.2, is said to enhance the accuracy of GPS tracking during workouts such as cycling and running. However, Zepp Health does not explain exactly what has changed or where Amazfit GTR Mini users may feel the benefit. According to a recent Discord post, the update is currently only available for a limited number of customers. A wider global rollout is planned to begin on November 28th, though it is unclear how long this process will take.
When it is available to you, you will be able to update the smartwatch via the Zepp app, which was recently refreshed with Version 9.0.0. To trigger the installation, go to Profile > Amazfit GTR Mini > System Update. The Amazfit GTR Mini smartwatch is currently available at Amazon for $84.99, having sold for $99.99 in early October.
