According to a recent research note from prominent industry analysts obtained by MacRumors, it appears that Apple is on track to introduce the next generation of the much-awaited iPhone SE budget smartphone as early as March 2025.
As per the note, which was the result of the analysts' recent trip to Asia where they gleaned information straight from Apple's suppliers and manufacturers, the iPhone SE 4 with an Apple-designed 5G modem is slated to see the light of day towards the end of Q1 2025, falling in line with expectations from previous reports.
Based on the plethora of leaks and rumors surrounding the iPhone SE 4 so far, the upcoming budget smartphone is expected to rock a 6.1-inch OLED display, a modern A-series SoC with 8 GB of RAM, a single 48 MP rear camera, and a USB-C port. If the rumors hold true, these specifications will make the iPhone SE 4 a rather feature-packed smartphone, and a strong mid-range contender - that is, only if Apple manages to hit the right price point.
The current generation iPhone SE is now over two years old and features a dated design with thick bezels and a home button, with a price tag of $429. The next-generation iPhone SE is sizing up to be a major upgrade, which might indicate that a price hike is nigh. But of course, it is too early to tell.
